If you find yourself at the window at the right time on a Monday morning, you might catch Erin Miller arriving with a backpack of flowers on bike, assembling and delivering our weekly arrangement on the spot. The owner of her new business, The Floral Times, Erin has a vision for arrangements that’s purposeful, bold, and vibrant – as if someone ran through a field and grabbed an assortment of flowers. Still, she’s learning day-to-day, both in terms of refining her style and learning mechanics of the craft. In late December, having starting the business while working full-time at Huckberry in the Mission, Erin left the company and registered the Times at City Hall three weeks later, making her vision a full-time dream. Being in the early stages of starting a business allows her the freedom to evolve as a florist while bringing her signature style to clients. She sources inspiration from the powerful women in her life, who keep her inspired her as she runs her own business.
